Professional house packing to make moving easier

Packing a home can take days. From kitchen cupboards and wardrobes to glassware, televisions and ornaments, there is often more to prepare than you expect. Bridgepoint provides professional house packing services across Northern Ireland, helping homeowners, tenants, landlords, students and families prepare for moving day.

Book packing alongside your Bridgepoint house removal and one team can prepare, protect, load, transport and unload your belongings. We tailor the work to the rooms and items you need help with.

Full-house, part-house and individual item packing

Full-house packing

Our team can work room by room through houses, flats, apartments, bungalows and larger family homes. This can include kitchens, bedrooms, living and dining rooms, home offices, bathrooms, garages and suitable household belongings.

Part-house packing

Already packed some rooms? We can take care of the kitchen, bedroom, garage or other agreed areas you have left to finish. You do not need to book a full-house packing service.

Fragile and difficult items

We can pack selected televisions, artwork, mirrors, china, glassware, ornaments, musical instruments and collectibles. Suitable wrapping, padding and, where appropriate, double-wrapping help protect delicate items during handling and transport. Tell us about fragile or valuable household items before your quotation.

Packing materials and room labels

Appropriate materials are included in the agreed packing quotation, based on what needs packed. These can include medium, large and heavy-duty boxes, wardrobe and TV boxes, bubble wrap, packing paper, tape, furniture wrap, mattress covers, labels and protective blankets.

Boxes can be labelled by room and/or contents so you can find what you need and identify where each box belongs at your new property. If you only need supplies, see our moving and packing supplies page.

Careful preparation throughout your home

Kitchen packing

We can prepare crockery, plates, glasses, pots and pans, utensils, small appliances and cupboard contents. Suitable food items are subject to our terms and conditions. Fragile kitchenware receives suitable wrapping and padding.

Clothing and wardrobes

Clothes can be packed in standard boxes, suitable bags or wardrobe boxes for hanging garments such as suits, dresses and coats.

TVs, computers and electronics

We can pack televisions, computers, monitors, consoles, printers, cables and other suitable electronics. Back up important data and disconnect equipment beforehand. We can assist with basic disconnections where appropriate, but data backups and specialist electrical disconnection remain the customer's responsibility.

Furniture protection

We use suitable blankets, furniture wrap and mattress covers. Suitable furniture can be dismantled where necessary and reassembled at the destination as part of the removal service. Larger furniture is placed into the appropriate rooms.

What to keep with you

Personally pack and transport cash, jewellery, important documents, passports, medication, perishable food and liquids. Certain hazardous or unsuitable items cannot be included. Ask us beforehand if you are unsure about a particular belonging.

How packing and removal work together

For many larger moves, we recommend two separate days:

  1. Day 1: Packing. We prepare the agreed rooms and belongings, using suitable protection and labels.
  2. Day 2: Removal. We load the prepared belongings, transport them to your new property, unload and position larger furniture.

For smaller moves, timing is discussed when preparing your quotation. Depending on the work, we can provide one, two, three or more packers. The property size, contents and access determine the team and time required.

Packing for storage and longer-distance moves

We can pack belongings for a move into managed storage, whether you are between properties, renovating or downsizing. We discuss protection based on the items and expected storage period.

We also pack for suitable cross-channel and overseas removals, including moves between Northern Ireland and Great Britain. Tell us about your destination so we can discuss the protection required for the journey.

Before the packing team arrives

  • Remove valuables and personal items you will carry yourself.
  • Empty freezers where required and separate anything not being moved.
  • Dispose of unwanted items or discuss waste removal with us.
  • Disconnect appliances where appropriate and back up electronic data.

We explain the preparations for your particular move during booking.

How much does a packing service cost?

All packing is quotation-based. We assess the number of rooms, belongings, boxes and fragile items, materials, number of packers, access, days required and travel distance, alongside your removal arrangements.

As standard, we can carry out an in-person property survey. Depending on the size and complexity of the job, we can also discuss your requirements by phone or work from a detailed inventory.

Packing services across Northern Ireland

We provide packing with suitable Bridgepoint removals across Northern Ireland, including Belfast, Bangor, Newtownards, Ards & North Down and County Down. Whether you are moving from student accommodation or a large family home, contact us early to discuss your date and requirements.

Frequently asked questions

Can you pack my entire house or just selected rooms?

Yes. We can pack a full property, agreed rooms or individual fragile and difficult items as part of your Bridgepoint removal.

Can I book packing if another company is moving me?

No. Packing is provided alongside a Bridgepoint removal. We do not offer a standalone packing service when another company carries out the move.

Do you supply boxes and packing materials?

Yes. Suitable materials can be included in your quotation, including boxes, wardrobe and TV boxes, protective wrapping, covers, tape and labels.

Will you label my boxes?

Yes. Boxes can be labelled by room and/or contents to help you identify belongings after the move.

Do you pack fragile items and electronics?

Yes. We can protect suitable glassware, china, artwork, mirrors, televisions and electronics. Please back up data and disconnect equipment first.

Do you offer unpacking?

No. We currently do not offer an unpacking service. We do place larger furniture in the appropriate rooms as part of your removal.

Can you collect the cardboard afterwards?

Contact us about collecting unwanted cardboard and packaging through our waste removal service once you finish unpacking.

Can you pack for storage or an overseas move?

Yes. Packing can be arranged for suitable storage, cross-channel and overseas removals. We discuss protection based on the belongings and journey.

How long will packing take?

This depends on property size, contents and packing requirements. Larger moves may need multiple packers or more than one day. We often recommend packing one day and moving the next.

What should I keep with me?

Cash, jewellery, passports, important documents, medication, perishable food and liquids should stay with you. Ask us about any item you are unsure of.

How early should I book?

As early as possible, particularly during busy moving periods, so we can arrange the appropriate team, materials and time.
